Those are just lame excuses. I lost Stamkos and I'm still sitting 3rd and undefeated in a 20 team pool.

If we continue with our post apoctolypic (without Stamkos) then when he returns we will have a 28-21-7 record with 63 pts and 26 games to make the playoffs

Good recap Michael. What is with this team the last few games they have around 10-12 shots til midway through the game then wake up. Even against the Sens they only had 12 through 2 periods. Right now they're holding their own but if they don't support these good efforts by the goalies we are going to see alot more loses stacking up.

Cheers. And I agree. The skaters have to get the puck on net. It's been a problem for this group for years. Sitting there last night, I couldn't tell you how many times Purcell, in particular, skated into the zone and then passed up on a great shooting opportunity by looping back. Just bad.

If we play .500 hockey until Stamkos returns we have a chance, but after last nights first half of the game....

The lack of scoring is concerning, but to me the most concerning thing is the lack of chances. Goal scoring evens out. Chances don't. This team isn't playing the right way right now.

Purcell is always thinking pass first that's why I suggested Kucherov on the PP because the kid will shoot from anywhere even with Marty and Palat digging in the corners he could be a good addition, even if he doesn't score we will have more opportunities for dirty goals.

Being a pass-first player is fine. Filppula and Marty are both pass-first players. Being a player who passes on glorious shooting opportunities more often than not is not okay. I think it was Mike Corcoran who tweeted this (I'm paraphrasing) - I'd be happy if Purcell got the puck anywhere near the vicinity of the net.

I like Kucherov a lot. Like you said, he puts the puck on net. That's never a bad option.

As a Jets fan, I always enjoy the games against Tampa as they are in my top 5 teams and one of my favourites in the east. Looking forward to playing them again. Glad both teams at least grabbed a point. Very nice to see the bolts' goaltending situation get resolved, too!

Lecavalier has a non-displaced fracture in his back ! Could you imagine how (frank)ed we would be right now if he was still on our team?

Oh yea? Well in that 20 team keeper pool I have Stamkos, Ovie, Tavares and Giroux on the same team after like 10 trades. Goalies and defense suck though.

I do believe that the majority of Lightning writers, commentors and fans or over looking Henri Ikonen. He's not as flashy as Drouin or as hard nosed at Erne, but he's a good all around player that put on a bit of weight and height over the summer and his numbers have vastly improved.

He's almost matched his point totals from last season in half the games. I see another Ondrej Palat or even a Valteri Filppula. Call me crazy, but I was right about Palat. Ikonen turns 20 on April 17th 2014 which would make him eligible for the AHL next season.

Thornton and Neal deserve 15 games a peice. What a pair of (frank)ing ass-clowns.
